Sprinkling Method.
This is a variation of the pouring method. The chaplain's hand is used to sprinkle the water. The water
should be room temperature and is placed in the baptismal font or bowl from which the chaplain will
take the water used to sprinkle on the candidate's head. This method is used by some liturgical and non-
liturgical Protestant faith groups.

Prepare the Chapel for a Pouring or Sprinkling Method of Baptism.
To prepare for a pouring or sprinkling method of baptism, you should follow the general guidelines
below:
Ensure the baptismal font (Figure 3-1), or bowl, (Figure 3-2), is clean and positioned as

directed by the chaplain.

Ensure the baptismal font or bowl is filled with fresh, warm (room temperature) water.

Ensure the Easter/Paschal candle (when used) is positioned and lit.
o
Place a credence table next to the baptismal font or bowl.
o
Place a white cloth on top of the credence table.
