critical area in the safeguarding of chapel offerings.
(1) Consider chronological differences when selecting counters and verifiers.
(2) Verification should be done in the presence of the counters to preclude potential
problems.
(3) Only counters will make corrections to Offering Control Sheets. Require both counters
to initial corrections. Do not allow verifier to make corrections.

c. The chaplain assistant/verifier remains in the room and observes the counters as they count
the offering. One of the following individuals should also be in the counting room during this
process: senior chaplain, officiating chaplain, chaplain assistant supervisor, or senior
chaplain assistant.
