PRACTICE EXERCISE

If you answer any item incorrectly, study again that part of the lesson
which contains the portion involved.
Situation: You are the chaplain assistant assigned to the 2nd Battalion.
Your battalion is participating in an extended field training exercise.
Your chaplain has been called back to garrison because of an emergency
situation with a family member of the unit.
Prior to his departure, he
instructed you to,"...go out and visit the soldiers and see if you can be of
any assistance to them." You know the chaplain will be gone for 48 hours
and that he wishes for you to aggressively pursue the UMT mission within the
battalion.

Your first stop is the battalion S-1, the Administration NCO informs
you that a new soldier has been assigned to the unit. He is sitting
outside the tent waiting for his company to pick him up. You decide:

not to disturb him now, since he is new to the unit.

introduce yourself and show that the UMT cares.

inform the 1SG to make an appointment for the new soldier to meet
the chaplain.

get the new soldier's name and unit, and give it to the chaplain
