between personal courage in war and the spiritual fitness
of soldiers in Field Manual 1, The Army:
`Courage is the ability to overcome fear and carry on with the
mission. Courage makes it possible for soldiers to fight and win.
Courage, however, transcends the physical dimension. Moral
